This research belonged to an experimental study that used a quasi- experimental design. This study's research design was Quasi-Experimental Design, and the type of research design used was non- equivalent control group design. The samples were the 14 students chosen by using the purposive sampling technique. The data collecting technique was the scale of learning discipline and self-control. The reliability instrument test in this research used the Alpha Cronbach formula. The result was the reliability coefficient in the learning discipline scale was 0.884, and the scale of self-control was 0.949. The data analysis technique in this study was using nonparametric statistics with Man Withney (U) test and the Wilcoxon test by using SPSS 20.0 for windows. The research result of the Wilcoxon test showed that (1) modeling technique effectiveness towards the learning discipline of grade XI students (sign = 0.018<0,05) and (2) Modelling technique was effective in self-control improvement of students grade XI (sign = 0.018<0.05). The result of the Wilcoxon test showed that group counseling service with the Modelling technique was sufficient to improve learning discipline and self-control of grade XI students SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The result of the Mann Whitney test showed that: 1) modeling technique was effective in improving students' learning discipline grade XI (sign = 0.002<0.05), and (2) Modelling technique was effective to in improving grade XI students' self-control (sign = 0.002<0.05). The result of the Mann Whitney test showed that Group counseling with modeling techniques was effective in improving students' learning discipline and self- control of SMA muhamadiyah 3 yogyakarta grade XI students self-control.
