TY - THES N2 - This study aimed to produce 1) an instrument of assessment of social development in the field of social guidance and counseling, 2) know the validity of instruments, 3) know the reliability of the instruments, and 4) describe the results of self-assessment of social development in the field of social guidance and counseling of high school students. The developed instruments consisted of a self-assessment instrument of students? social development in the field of social guidance and counseling consisting of 3 aspects, namely awareness of social responsibility, gender awareness, and maturity of relationships with peers. The approach used in this study was the development of an non-test instrument. The self-assessment instrument consisted of 18 items validated by means of: (1) the content validity by expert judgment, analyzed with the Aiken?s, (2) the construct validity, analyzed with exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Trials for the products (instruments) were tested on 213 eleventh-grade high school students of IPS (social science) and IPA (natural science) classes. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations. The construct validity was analyzed with EFA using IBM SPSS Statistics25. The results showed that the developed instruments are effective to be used by guidance and counseling teachers who will conduct assessments of students? social development for the assessment of the results of services in the field of guidance and social counseling. This is because: (1) the content validity of the social development assessment instruments in the field of guidance and counseling with Aiken?s index has been adequate; (2) judging from the Alpha Cronbach coefficient 0.930 for the overall aspects that make up the aspect of social development in the field of social guidance and counseling; (3) the instruments in this model have the construct validity with the EFA approach that obtains Eigen values, explicable variances, and proven valid factor components; (4) the results of self-assessment of the social development of high school students as a whole there are 144 students of good category, 99 students categorized good enough at social development.
