Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan model sekolah hijau (green school) yang tepat pada Program Keahlian Teknik Otomotif di SMK. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Prosedur penelitian dan pengembangan yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini mengikuti 10 tahapan yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall (1983). Tempat penelitian di SMK Semen Gresik, Jawa Timur. Subyek penelitian adalah guru, siswa, tenaga kependidikan, dan petugas layanan khusus sekolah. Sedangkan obyek penelitian adalah mesin Toyota Kijang tipe 7K berteknologi metallic catalytic converter, mesin Isuzu C190 berteknologi diesel particulate filter, mesin Toyota Kijang tipe 5K berteknologi eco-muffler, dan oil filter cleaner. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner, observasi, survei, eksperimen, dan dokumentasi. Untuk mendapatkan data yang valid dan reliabel digunakan peralatan dan instrumen penelitian seperti exhaust gas analyzer, smoke opacity meter, sound level meter, fuel flow meter, stopwatch, thermocouple, digital thermometer, digital tachometer, U-tube manometer, dan blower. Standar pengujian emisi gas buang berdasarkan SNI 09-7118.1- 2005. Standar pengujian opasitas gas buang berdasarkan SNI 09-7118.2-2005. Standar pengujian tingkat kebisingan berdasarkan ISO/FDIS 5130:2006(E). Sedangkan standar pengujian konsumsi bahan bakar berdasarkan SNI 7554:2010. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa: (1) model kajian lingkungan sekolah (KLS) disusun melalui survei tentang konsumsi bahan bakar di bengkel otomotif sekolah dan konsumsi bahan bakar untuk moda transportasi warga sekolah untuk menghitung potensi total beban emisi seperti CO, HC, NOx, SOx, PM, and CO2 dalam ton/tahun. Selain itu, juga diperlukan survei tentang limbah oli yang dihasilkan oleh sekolah; (2) teknologi metallic catalytic converter plat tembaga berlapis krom dapat mereduksi emisi CO dan HC rata-rata sebesar 95,35% dan 79,28%; (3) teknologi DPF berbahan dasar plat stainless steel dan 130 gr glasswool dapat mereduksi opasitas gas buang rata-rata sebesar 90,85%; (4) teknologi eco-muffler jenis off-set tube type muffler dapat mereduksi kebisingan kendaraan rata-rata sebesar 15,10%; (5) teknologi oil filter cleaner dapat mereduksi limbah oli rata- rata sebesar 12 liter/jam, 96 liter/hari, 1.920 liter/bulan, dan 35.040 liter/tahun; dan (6) model ideal sekolah hijau pada Program Keahlian Teknik Otomotif di SMK yaitu sekolah melakukan 7 langkah pengembangan sekolah hijau, yaitu: (a) merujuk pada isu-isu lingkungan, baik isu global (SDGs, perubahan iklim, pemanasan global, bencana alam, dan lain-lain), isu nasional maupun isu lokal; (b) menyusun KLS, (c) melakukan analisis kebutuhan (needs assessment) tentang kebutuhan sarana ramah lingkungan; (d) mengembangkan teknologi otomotif ramah lingkungan untuk mereduksi emisi gas buang, opasitas, kebisingan, konsumsi bahan bakar, dan limbah oli; (e) melakukan uji coba terhadap teknologi otomotif ramah lingkungan yang dikembangkan; (f) mengukur efektivitas dan efisiensi terhadap teknologi otomotif yang dikembangkan agar produk efektif dan applicable; dan (g) membuat kebijakan berbasis lingkungan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi otomotif ramah lingkungan bagi seluruh warga sekolah. date: 2018-06-28 date_type: published institution: Program Pascasarjana department: Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan thesis_type: disertasi referencetext: Allam, S.
