Sampel yang digunakan dalam fase penelitian kuantitatif berjumlah 369 siswa dan 15 guru yang pengumpulan datanya menggunakan metode kuesioner. Sementara narasumber dalam fase penelitian kualitatif berjumlah 39 orang yang terdiri atas 16 siswa, 15 guru, 5 kepala sekolah, dan 3 warga masyarakat yang pengumpulan datanya menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Kesimpulan akhir dalam penelitian ini merupakan rangkaian hasil dari meta analisis dengan cara membandingkan hasil penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa (1) model manajemen program pendidikan karakter yang sedang berlaku di sekolah menengah tempat penelitian ini belum memanfaatkan smartphone sebagai alat bantu; (2) model manajemen program pendidikan karakter yang diberlakukan tersebut kurang relevan diterapkan dalam era revolusi industri 4.0; (3) model manajemen program pendidikan karakter yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini berbasis pada pemanfaatan smartphone sebagai alat bantu; (4) produk dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan menggunakan model ADDIE; (5) program yang dihasilkan dan dikelola menggunakan produk yang dikembangkan adalah program pendidikan karakter berbasis pemanfaatan smartphone; (6) efektivitas program pendidikan karakter setelah memanfaatkan smartphone lebih baik dibandingkan dengan efektivitas program pendidikan karakter sebelum memanfaatkan smartphone dan nilai rata-rata efektivitasnya mencapai 79,51% dari yang diharapkan; (7) keterapan program pendidikan karakter berbasis pemanfaatan smartphone mencapai 78,68% dari yang diharapkan; (8) kualitas karakter siswa setelah menjalankan program pendidikan karakter berbasis pemanfaatan smartphone menjadi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan sebelumnya dan nilai rata-rata kualitas karakternya mencapai 82,07% dari yang diharapkan; (9) produk yang dihasilkan terbukti secara meyakinkan dapat program pendidikan karakter berbasis pemanfaatan smartphone yang valid, teruji, efektif, dan memiliki kualitas keterapan tinggi untuk sekolah menengah di era revolusi industri 4.0.
