%X In the probability theory, we know there is the one-to-one correspondence between distributions and characteristic functions. The while, in various procedures involving Fourier or Laplace transforms may be used in actually computing the distribution of a random variable from its characteristic function. But, there is also an explicit formula for the distribution function in terms of the characteristic function and that usually known as inversion formula. Thus, from a characteristic function we can hope to obtain a distribution function unique only up to additive constant (utac).
