Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis survei dengan sampel sebanyak 393 siswa. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah stratified random sampling technique. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes literasi matematika dan angket Self-efficacy yang telah dibuktikan validasi konten dan konstruk serta diestimasi reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif deskriptif dan inferensial. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematika siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Makassar tergolong rendah dengan sebaran 48,35% siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi matematika yang sangat rendah, 24,43% siswa termasuk kategori rendah, 14,76% termasuk kategori sedang, 8,91% termasuk kategori tinggi serta 3,56% pada kategori sangat tinggi. Kemampuan literasi matematika siswa pada komponen proses Formulate dan Interpret tergolong rendah serta Employ tergolong sedang. Kemampuan literasi matematika siswa pada konten Quantity, Change & relationship, Space & shape, serta Uncertainty & data termasuk kategori rendah. Kemampuan literasi matematika siswa pada konteks Personal, Occupational, dan Societal termasuk kategori rendah serta Scientific tergolong sangat rendah. Secara umum, kemampuan Self- efficacy siswa SMP Negeri di Kota Makassar tergolong sedang dengan sebaran 1,27% siswa memiliki Self-efficacy yang sangat rendah, 16,03% siswa termasuk kategori rendah, 49,11% termasuk kategori sedang, 27,48% termasuk kategori tinggi serta 6,11% pada kategori sangat tinggi. Self-efficacy siswa pada dimensi Level, Strength, dan Generality tergolong sedang.
