In order to be able to have good relationship with other countries, it is important to have good communication skill and cultural understanding. Thus, the Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) has become “imperative” for education, particularly English subject. The aim of this research is describing 1) teachers’ perceptions of ICC, 2) teachers’ developments process of ICC and 3) classroom practices applied by teachers regarding the ICC. The research used mixed method research that involved questionnaire as the quantitative data, then interview and observation checklist as the qualitative data. There are 11 public high schools and 30 English teachers of grade X in Yogyakarta City participated in this research. The result of this research revealed that the English teachers in Yogyakarta City have positive perception towards ICC. Beside giving their perceptions, the teachers also shared their ICC development process through education involved formal, informal, and non-formal education.
