Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA NEGERI 4 Yogyakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sample. Pemilihan kelas berdasarkan nilai dan perbedaan kelas jurusan. Kelas XI IPA 4, XI IPS 1, dan XI KKO ditetapkan sebagai kelas yang dijadikan sampel penelitian. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 96 terdiri dari 47 siswa laki-laki dan 49 siswa perempuan.\r\nTeknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket  pernyataan tertutup dan pertanyaan terbuka. Validitas yang digunakan adalah validitas konstruk. Validitas konstruk dilakukan dengan cara judgement experts.\r\nHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) resepsi siswa  terhadap cerpen karya cerpenis perempuan termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 70,65%, resepsi siswa terhadap keterkaitan aspek psikologi dengan unsur pembangun cerpen termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 80,43%, dan keterkaitan aspek sosiologi dengan unsur pembangun cerpen termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 83,68%; (2) resepsi siswa terhadap cerpen karya cerpenis laki-laki termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 71,74%, resepsi siswa terhadap keterkaitan aspek psikologi cerpenis dengan unsur pembangun cerpen termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 47,83%, dan keterkaitan aspek sosiologi cerpenis dengan unsur pembangun cerpen termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 61,95%; dan (3) resepsi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta terhadap cerpen karya cerpenis laki-laki lebih tinggi secara keseluruhan dan dilihat dari keterkaitan aspek psikologi dengan unsur pembangun cerpen."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
