%X The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of socio-ecological approach in alleviating poverty in poor districts. Malang district has great tourism potential in improving the economy of their people. However, these coastal communities are poor still. Hence the. It is needed further study to improve the welfare of society based on a socio-ecological approach in poverty alleviation. It is proposed that making an attention to the geographical condition and giving skill and developing the community potential is important to alleviate poverty. Tourism object development based on environmental principles and ethics have to be an important attentions. Accordingly those community livelihood able to increased and thus the poverties are decreased.
