Kegiatan ini dalam rangka peningkatan ketrampilan dan pemahaman mengenai berbagai aspek kependidikan dan pemberian berbagai bentuk program layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang dapat diberikan oleh seorang guru pembimbing, dalam rangka memenuhi persyaratan pembentukan tenaga kependidikan yang bertugas memberikan layanan bimbingan di sekolah yang profesional.\r\nPelaksanaan program PPL dimulai dari tanggal 10 Agustus 2015 sampai dengan 12 September 2015. PPL dilaksanakan di SMP N 5 Depok yang berlokasi di Jl. Weling, Karanggayam, Caturtunggal, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Selama kegiatan, praktikan melaksanakan berbagai program kerja yang bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi proses bimbingan dan pengoptimalan potensi siswa. Program yang dilaksanakan antara lain layanan orientasi, layanan informasi, konseling individual, bimbingan kelompok, konseling kelompok, dan kegiatan aplikasi instrumen. Praktik layanan orientasi dan informasi umumnya dilakukan dengan metode bimbingan klasikal.\r\nPada realisasinya kegiatan berjalan sesuai dengan yang telah direncanakan. Layanan bimbingan klasikal mampu dilakukan sebanyak empat kali yang dinilai dan 8 kali insidental. Bimbingan dan konseling kelompok masing-masing satu kali serta dua kali konseling individual. Praktik layanan aplikasi instrumen dilakukan melalui analisis DCM pada kelas VIII sejumlah empat kelas."^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
