The research design was Classroom Action Research which was conducted in two cycles. Two kinds of data were collected in the action research the quantitative data and the qualitative data. The quantitative data were taken mainly from the reading comprehension tests at pre cycle, at the end of cycle 1, and at the end of cycle 2. The qualitative data were collected through questionnaires A and B, the reflection of learning, photos and video documentation, and informal interviews. The questionnaires were given to get the data about students? interest. Another questionnaire was to get data about reading difficulties at the pre cycle. The results of the research show that (1) MLT Method was implemented in the Classroom through designing the teaching learning interaction that encouraged the students? involvement in the teaching and learning interaction. Students did not only follow the instructions of the teacher, but also took part actively in developing the reading skills. The coaching programme was the activity that implemented the collaborative learning and activated the students? learning. (2) MLT significantly improve the learning interest of the students. The students? interest increased from the pre cycle to cycle 1 and they increased again from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The average score increased 1.5 from the pre cycle to cycle 1 (from 16.8 to 18.3). It significantly increased again 4.8 from cycle 1 to cycle 2 (18.3 to 23.1), (3) MLT could increase the achievement of reading report texts of the students of SMP N 1 Sapuran in semester 1, academic year 2015/2016. The average score increased 19.4 from the pre cycle to cycle 1 (from 57.7 to 77.1) and increased 4.3 from cycle 1 to cycle 2 (from 77.1 to 81.4).}, url = {http://eprints.uny.ac.id/29709/} }
