        abstract = {This research applies psychological approach and American Psychiatric Association?s DSM-IV to Flynn?s Gone Girl. It aims to analyze (1) Amy Dunne?s personality disorder related to her actions and behaviors that reflect it, and (2) the cause of Amy?s personality disorder.
This research is a qualitative research and applies content analysis method to analyze the data. The object of the study is Flynn?s novel entitled Gone Girl. The data of this research are words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and paragraphs taken from the novel which are related to the topic of the research. The researcher collected the data by reading the data comprehensively and took notes on important words, phrases, clauses,  sentences,  and  paragraphs  related  to  the  topic.  The  data  analysis  was observed by using psychological approach and American Psychiatric Association?s DSM-IV, focused on antisocial personality disorder, especially in the characteristics and the cause. Peer-debriefing method is used to gain the trustworthiness of the data.
The  findings  of  the  study  show  that  Amy  suffers  antisocial  personality
disorder. It is indicated by her actions and behaviors which show the characteristics of antisocial  personality  disorder.  Amy  shows  six out of seven  characteristics  of antisocial   personality   disorder,   which   are   failure   to   conform   social   norms, deceitfulness,  impulsivity,  irritability  and  aggressiveness,  reckless  disregard  for safety of self and others, and lack of remorse. Amy?s antisocial personality disorder is caused by her peers, who are her parents and husbands. Her parents write a book entitled Amazing Amy in which the main character, Amy, is a girl who is perfect in everything she does. Meanwhile, her husband cheats on her. It causes Amy to strive for perfection. Amy does anything to achieve perfection which makes her suffer from antisocial personality disorder.}
