Variabel penelitian ini terdiri atas variabel bebas (X) berupa media Brettspiel 4 Gewinnt dan variabel terikat (Y) kemampuan membaca teks bahasa Jerman. Desain eksperimen menggunakan Pre-Posttest Control Group. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 280 orang. Sampel diambil secara simple random sampling. Jumlah anggota sampel keseluruhan berjumlah 64 orang, yaitu kelas eksperimen 33 orang dan kelas kontrol 31 orang. Instrumen\r\nyang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah dengan tes kemampuan membaca teks. Uji\r\nvaliditas instrumen menggunakan analisis butir tes. Uji reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan\r\nrumus Product Moment oleh Arikunto. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 27 dari 30 butir soal\r\ndinyatakan reliabel dengan nilai r-hitung"^^<http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema#string> .
