"Abstract\r\nThe effect of self-understanding, family and school on interest to proceed to Mechanical Engineering Education Department (JPTM) FT UNY has been investigated. Samples of this ex post facto study were undergraduate students academic year 2013. Data were collected using questionnaire, observation and documentation. It is then analyzed descriptively using simple and multiple linear regression. Self-understanding (X1), family (X2), and school (X3) simultaneously affecting interest to proceed to JPTM FT UNY positively and significantly shown by tcalculate > ttable (X1=4,987, X2=2,151 dan X3=2,889 > 1,65).
