This research data resource is the first edition of Miss Lu novel by Naning Pranoto, published in 2003 by Gramedia Widiasarana Indonesia Publisher, Jakarta. It is then focused into problems regarding discrimination towards people of Tionghoa ethnic studied with literature sociology, specifically literature work sociology. The data is obtained by reading and note taking technique. The data is then analyzed with descriptive qualitative analysis technique. Data validity is obtained by validity test (semantic) and reliability test. The research results show some points as follows. First, forms of discrimination experienced by Tionghoa ethnic are divided into eleven forms, which are: (1) Old Miss Lu was abandoned by the government through some policies (2) the prohibition of having education for Old Miss Lu?s children in the elite school (3) naturalization for foreigners (especially Tionghoa) (4) name changing for foreigners who are willing to be Indonesian citizen (5) blackmailing by Japan?s ally to Old Miss Lu and her husband (6) business prohibition (7) business region restriction for Tionghoa businessmen (8) Old Miss Lu deportation to her native country, China (9) Oppression by Mao Zedong Red Guard towards Old Miss Lu and Pingping, her child (10) defamation and (11) murder of Miss Lu?s husband. Second, the causal factors of the discriminationtowards people of Tionghoa in Miss Lu novel by Naning Pranoto are divided into 4 factors, namely: (1) ethnicity factor becomes the main factor of all discriminations (2) economic factor(3) politic factor and (4) religion factor. Third, Old Miss Lu and her family responses in handling discrimination are divided into three parts, namely: (1) refusal response, i.e. verbal response by not accepting some of the government?s policies, such as name changing policy.
