In practice, even non-periodic function defined in a certain range of the domain can be represented by Fourier series. Vectors, on the other hand, are usually introduced earlier than Fourier series. Similar to Fourier series, vectors are also used intensively and extensively in physics. In this paper we will examine the properties of Fourier series that account for its similarities to the properties of vectors. The orthogonal properties of bases vectors in the context of dot product amongst bases vectors will be the central discussion to examine the similarities between vectors and Fourier series. date: 2014-05 date_type: submitted publication: Proceeding of International Conference On Research, Implementation And Education Of Mathematics And Sciences 2014 publisher: Yogyakarta State University refereed: TRUE official_url: htttp://fmipa.uny.ac.id referencetext: Boas, M.L.
