Abstract

The aims of this research is to know the achievement of university students’ competence based of KKN-PPL program in the year 2008-2009 based on the vocational teacher’s perception in DIY province, the competency is assessed from eight of university students’ competence based of KKN-PPL program which is fixed by UPPL UNY, and to know the support and obstacle factors of the based competence. This research is a descriptive research, in which giving clear description or discussion of a certain situation without some treatments to the object of the research. The method in this research is a descriptive method. The participant of the research is 138 vocational teachers who guide the university students conducted KKN-PPL in the year 2008-2009 in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The validity and reliability assessed using SPSS for windows 15.0 version. The instrument alpha coefficient recognize the characteristic of the university students 0,843 (very high), mastering the subject material 0,764 (high), mastering methodology to teach 0,812 (very high), having characteristic of teacher 0,811 (very high), understanding the dynamic of school life 0,662 (high), having ability to manage the activities 0,845 (very high), having ability to manage the school 0,736 (high), and the alpha coefficient in having life skill 0,727 (high). The technique of this research is using quantitative descriptive statistic technique The result of this research show that the level of KKN-PPL university students competence based achievement in the year 2008-2009, assessed by using based competence: understanding the characteristic of the university students 66,59% (high), mastering the subject material 73,10% (high), mastering methodology to teach 69,08 (high), having characteristic (personality) as teacher 79,06% (high), understanding the dynamic of school life 66,39% (high), having ability to manage the activities 75,50% (high), having ability to manage the school 56,88% (average), and the alpha coefficient in having life skill 64,72%(high). Support factor is most of university students having experience in teaching, and the obstacle is most of the university students having less subject materials to teach to the students in the class.
