Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) Knowing the effectiveness of the use of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 as a medium of computer-based learning (2) Knowing the effect of the use of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 sevagai instructional media to learn the lesson on audio engineering class XII students majoring in audio engineering video SMK 2 Yogyakarta (3) Knowing the barriers faced by students in using Cool Edit Pro 2.1 as a media-based learning komputeruntuk improve learning outcomes on the subjects of class XII student of audio engineering audio engineering video SMK N 2 Yogyakarta This research is ex-post facto descriptive correlational quantitative approach. This study population is a class XII student of Engineering Expertise Program Audio Video academic year 2011/2012 which amounted to 65 students. Methods of data collection for the variable effectiveness and barriers to use the model questionnaire enclosed with the questionnaire Likert scale, while for the outcome variables studied audio engineering subjects using the method of documentation of the value of audio engineering subjects. The validity of research instruments performed by analysis of the items calculated by the formula Product moment correlation. Reliability of the instrument was calculated using Cronbach Alpha formula. The method used in collecting data is by questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics, while to identify trends based on the normal criteria are categorized into four is very high, high, low, very low. Data analysis techniques to test hypotheses using Kendall Tau analysis. These results indicate that the effectiveness of use of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 as a medium of higher learning in the category that is equal to 27 692%, and the correlation coefficient to study the significance of the coefficient of z 0291 with 3427. Barriers to students in the use of Cool Edit Pro 2.1 is included in the lower categories, namely 27 692%.
