Abstract

This study aims at determining differences in physics learning outcomes between group practicum and individual practicum on the subject matter of measurement of students with visual impairment. The outcomes cover cognitive and psychomotor domains. This research was an apparent experimental study using pretest-posttest experimental design with two disordered experimental classes (untreated comparison group design). The sampling was done by using purposive cluster sampling in which the sampling was fully determined by the researcher in order to reach particular purposes. The sample was the students of grade VII of MTs LB/A Yaketunis Yogyakarta amounted to 60 people. Then, they were divided into two classes consisting of the experimental class 1 given with group practicum method and the experimental class 2 given with individual practicum method. The hypothesis testing method used t test for independent minor sample (uncorrelated) equipped with a descriptive analysis. The research results showed that there was no positive and significant relationship in learning outcomes of students with visual impairment in the cognitive and psychomotor domains between individual and group practicum. In the cognitive domain, the value of tcount < ttable which was 1.345 smaller than 2.78 while in the psychomotor domain, the value of tcount < ttable which was 1.164 smaller than 2.78 Key Words : group practicum, individual practicum, physics learning outcomes, students with visual impairment Year : 2010
