Abstract

This study aims at determining whether there were differences in students’ physics learning outcomes between the teaching using an experimental method applying collaborative model of analytic team technique and one with the experimental method. The learning outcomes covered the domains of cognitive and psychomotor. This study was an experimental study using pretest-pretest control group design. Population in this research was all eight grade students of SMP N 15 Yogyakarta in the academic year of 2009/2010 consisting of eight classes. The sampling was done by using purposive sampling technique. As the research sample, there were two classes which were class VIII B numbering 27 students as the control class given with the teaching using the experimental method and class VIII D numbering 30 students as the experimental class given with an experimental method of analytic team technique collaborative model. Hypothesis testing method used was independent sample t-test. The results of the study showed that there was no difference in student’s physics learning outcomes in the cognitive domain between the teaching using the experimental method with a collaborative model of team analytic technique and the experimental method. However, there were differences in student’s physics learning outcomes in the psychomotor domain between the teaching using the experimental method with the collaborative model of team analytic technique and one with the experimental method Key Words : experimental method, collaborative model of team analytic technique, physics learning outcomes Year : 2010
