Abstract

This study aims at developing and producing a worksheet to improve problem solving skills and mathematical creative thinking abilities of eight graders of SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta. In addition, this study also aims at determining problem solving and mathematical creative thinking abilities of eight graders of SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta after using the developed worksheet. This research was a study on product development in the form of a worksheet. In this study, the researcher referred to ADDIE development model which included 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subject of this research was teachers and eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta. The instruments used in this research were observation sheets on creativity, questionnaires on teacher’s responses, questionnaires on responses of students, and tests of problem solving skills and mathematical creative thinking abilities. The results of LKS development in order to improve students’ problem solving skills and mathematical creative thinking abilities were that (1) the development of the worksheet to improve students' problem solving skills and mathematical creative thinking abilities was through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation and (2) this developed LKS was able to provide positive impacts on the ability of problem solving and mathematical creative thinking abilities of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta. This could be seen from the average test score of students’ problem solving skills and mathematical creative thinking abilities which amounted to 76.7 with a good qualification. From the results of questionnaires on teachers' responses, the percentage obtained was 75% which meant that the worksheet was in a good qualification, likewise, according to students’ responses, the LKS was also in a good qualification.
