Abstract

This study aims at describing teachers' perception of Team Teaching, students’ attitude towards the mathematics teaching using Team Teaching, and the influence of teachers' perception of the Team Teaching on students’ learning achievements, the influence of students' attitude towards the mathematics instruction using Team Teaching, and learning styles on students’ mathematics learning achievements. The population of the study on teachers’ perception of the Team Teaching towards students’ learning achievements was 10 teams of teachers with the Team Teaching model and 10 classes taught by the teams. Meanwhile, the research on students' attitude towards the mathematics instruction using Team Teaching and learning styles on mathematics learning achievements was all students of grade XI-IPS of MAN Yogyakarta I numbered 106 students with 80 students as the sample. This research was a quantitative-descriptive research. Instruments of this research were the researcher herself, questionnaires of teachers’ perception about Team Teaching, the students’ attitude questionnaires towards the mathematics teaching using Team Teaching, questionnaires of students’ learning styles, and mid-semester tests. Research results showed that the perception of teachers towards the mathematics teaching using Team Teaching had a good enough criterion shown with an average interval of the observation data of 23.17 against the ideal average of 20 and the standard deviation of 6.6 ideal which were in the interval of 20 <xobservation ≤ 23.3 in a good enough criterion. Meanwhile, students' attitude towards the mathematics teaching using Team Teaching was also in a good enough criterion indicated by the average value of 45.19 in the interval of 45 <xobservation ≤ 52.5 against the ideal average of 45 and the ideal standard deviation of 15. The perception of teachers on Team Teaching gave positive effects on students’ learning achievements shown by the regression equation of 2 1 Y = 55.250 + 0.375X. If each increase of teachers' perception of Team Teaching was for 0.001; students’ learning achievement was also decreased by 0.375. In the second hypothesis, tcount value was obtained on 1.265 and t table of 1.991 so that the t count table <t (1.265 <1.991). Therefore, it could be concluded that students' attitudes toward the mathematics teaching of Team Teaching had no effect on the math learning achievement. For the third hypothesis, t count was 1.28 with the same t table that was 1.991 so that the count table t <t (1. 28 <1.991). The conclusion was that the students' learning styles had no effect on the students’ learning achievements. Taken together, students' attitude towards the mathematics teaching using Team Teaching and students’ learning styles did not affect students' mathematics learning achievements shown on the calculation of path analysis in which y1x2 p = - 0.144 dan y1x3 p = 0.20.
