Abstract

Abstract This study aims at determining the learning model application of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type on Basic Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering subject on X TP 4 class SMK N 2 Kebumen, and finding the motivation and learning outcomes of students with learning model types Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Basic Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering subject of X TP 4 class SMK N 2 Kebumen. This research is a class action research. This study was conducted in two cycles, which each cycle using the steps of planning, action , observation and reflection . The research subjects consist of 32 students . The results showed that the learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) was able to increase students’ motivation and learning outcomes. Increasing motivation could be seen from the declining number of students who are at low and very low categories for each motivation indicator . The increase of students’ learning outcomes in on Basic Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering subject can be seen in the average value at first cycle post test of 6,67 and has increased to the average value of the second cycle post test of 7,70, with a very high effect size of 2,59.
